Coaches, Committee Members and Players at Arbroath HSFP joined up to collect food for distribution to a local Charity, writes Tom Scott.
I understand the incredible haul, which also involved families and friends, will result in around 350 meals going to people who have been affected by the current pandemic.
A delivery to the Arbroath Foodbank went ahead on Tuesday Morning.
Well done to everyone who donated, and those within the Amateur Football Club, families and friends who shared the workload.
Scott Milne wrote his name all over the Pre-Christmas Friendly between Arbroath HSFP First Team and losing opponents FC 1320 – bagging all their goals in a 4-2 victory and taking the Man of the Match vote.
The Tuesday evening friendly, involving the Arbroath- based clubs, took place under floodlights at Links Park, Montrose.

The guys will out this weekend for a Half-Marathon. They were hoping to raise around £100, but by the middle of Friday afternoon the pot stood at around £620! Absolutely phenomenal.

The Scottish Government announcement on Tuesday that Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and East Lothian have dropped into Tier-3 has forced Arbroath HSFP to change Saturday’s proposed friendly fixture.
Instead of playing St Laurence, the High First Team will now meet Angus rivals MERPRO AFC at Broomfield Park. Kick-off 1pm.

Luke Reekie (3) and Andrew Findlay helped Finavon AFC to a 4-0 win against Arbroath Harp at Forfar Community Campus. Jay Doherty set-up two of the four goals -. including one with a cheeky backheel on the turn! Angus Tier-2. means Amateur Football clubs were able to resume contact training and play friendles.
Sam Davidson has won three Finavon AFC Awards from the 2019-2020 season -. Manager’s Player of the Year, Top Goalscorer and Goal of the Season.

Port Glasgow Athletic, members of the SSMAFL, have also requested a friendly against Inverclyde opposition.
Shaun Faskin netted a hat-trick for Colony Park AFC in their 3-0 friendly win against Kemnay Amateurs on Saturday. There was never any doubt about the outcome after Faskin gave his team an interval lead, and the better team won on the day at the Kemnay Academy venue.
With some restrictions being eased in different Health Board areas, other games went ahead.
Arbroath HSFP First Team had a 5-1 win against Carnoustie YM.
Arbroath HSFP B held Brechin Amateurs to a 3-3 draw.
Boness United CAFC, from the Stirling District Premier League, welcomed the opportunity to get back on a football pitch and defeated Mill AFC 7-1. David Rutherford was the star man with a hat-trick.

A proposed East Lothian League. still to be officially confirmed with an exact January, 2021 start date by the LEAFA should have no fewer than 11 teams, including Wallyford. Tranent Amateurs and Haddington Town. If approved, there would be Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon fixtures.
