Paul Keys scored twice as Glasgow Elm Football Club put six past Greenbank C of S in an entertaining friendly, writes Tom Scott.
Coach/ Manager Stuart Syme was delighted to get the squad back into action after a recent break, and said “We changed our shape for the last 20 minutes, which invited pressure, but we saw the game out, and more importantly managed a clean sheet.”
In bright sunshine, Calum Burnet opened the scoring with a cross that landed in the net.
Great build-up play led to Graeme Davidson finishing off No 2, and before the half-time whistle sounded, Paul Keys scored a great individual goal.
Craig McConnel found the net with a 35-yard lob ( 4-0), and Paul Keys bagged his second of the game as Elm went nap.
Shaun McNamee kept a cool head to convert their sixth goal from the penalty spot.
Ironically, Greenbank were awarded a spot-kick – given away by the Glasgow Elm goalkeeper, who then proceeded to save the 12-yard effort!
