The Club With No Home Pitch Wins A Title

Castlemilk Dynamo – better known as the Club with no Home Pitch to call their own – have clinched the Spark of Genius Central Scottish League Division 1A title from season 2019-2020, writes Tom Scott.

Covid-19 and travel bans have really extended the campaign beyond belief, but Dynamo’s 2-1 win over Steins Thistle last Saturday at Toryglen gave them the chance to celebrate – having pipped Gartcosh United for first place.

Both Clubs are still promoted to the top flight, and they will be joined by Division 1B champions Oban Saints – incredibly they were acclaimed winners last October, and Lesmahagow FC.

The Steins game was apparently dubbed “terrible to watch” in some quarters, and that may explain why I don’t have a blow-by-blow account of the finger-biting action!

That won’t matter in the Castlemilk Dynamo, or to their scorers Alan Semple or Bobby Goals.

Yes, for the latter I had to re-check with Manager Gary Hamilton, who assured me that is the gentleman’s surname…..
