Southside Management have been working hard on the training pitch and in the background to get things ready for the GDSFC Friendly Trophy starting 30th May, writes Tom Scott.
The Management have managed to secure two new signings that will help push the team to hopefully winning the Cup, and beyond that get them ready for the season starting in August.
Signing number one is Josh Martin. Josh has decided to come back after leaving towards end of last season. He has seen how the team has grown through lockdown with proper training now twice a week till games start and joined his brother and pal in improving their game through giving 100% at training.
Southside Manager Lee Smart had this to say about Josh.
“Losing Josh at a crucial part of the season was very hard as he gives you 110% at training and games so to have him back will, only improve the boys who play in the middle of the park as he will be pushing them to make the starting team.”
The next Signing is Liam McSherry. Liam knows the Manager and a few of the boys at Southside and having been out of football since lockdown is looking to get back between the sticks.
Said Lee “Having known Liam from school days and also playing against him a couple of times, I know he’s a solid keeper who will strength the team as current keeper Ross has no one to challenge him as of yet so will be good to see them both training together.”
