Thistle Volunteer Roles Draw Positive Response

Manager Sean Kenney today revealed volunteer roles being programmed at Kilbride Thistle AFC have been met by positive approaches from various people, writes Tom Scott.

Two scouts will oversee future opponents and identify potential signings.

More could follow as Kilbride attempt to put the best teams on the pitch – and have the best people involved off the park.

Said Sean “we are looking to extend our Social Media platforms and interest there too has been shown, which is great.”

Thistle have carried out great charity work over many years and are keen to partner a couple of different charities on a larger scale – allowing them to put more back into a local community who offer the Ayrshire Amateur League club magnificent support.

Former Ardrossan Winton Rovers and Saltcoats Vics striker Garry Oakley has been appointed Assistant Manager of the new Amateur team – formerly Tass Thistle AFC – coming under the Kilbride banner.

Said Sean: “Ive played with and against Garry. He is a smashing guy. He is big on developing young players, and will be terrific inside and outside the dressing room creating the right type of atmosphere which players will thrive on.”

“Our teams have resumed restricted training with good numbers. The training has been really good. We are excited about organising some friendlies when safe to do so next month.”
