Returning down to West Kilbride today, and the thoughts of Kilbride Thistle AFC Kit Man Brian “Bazza” Ayres – including offside rule!, writes Tom Scott.
What was your Playing Experience in Football before Kilbride Thistle AFC?
“I had a very successful youth career playing for local side TASS. Known locally for my wand of a left foot and my goal scoring abilities. Unfortunately, I had to retire when they brought the offside rules in at under 11s.”
When did you join Kilbride Thistle, and in what capacity?
“I joined in 2016. I had been down watching a few games and I know a lot of the boys at the end, and when a space came up on the bus for the end of season trip to Carlisle, I ended up going. After that, I became part of the club as Kitman.”
Please define your current role at the Club?
“Kitman, Hardman and all-round joker of the club!”
What has been your best memory at Kilbride Thistle AFC?
“The boys are murder at football, so it has to be the end of season trips away with all the boys. Been to Magaluf,, Liverpool, and Carlisle amongst others. Some weekends!”
Can you give us an in-sight into the Management style of Sean Kenney?
“100% committed and wants to play football the right way. Always wants what’s best for the club.”
What are your ambitions moving forward for yourself and the Club?
“To take over from Sean (Manager), and show him how to win a trophy.”
