The Big Manager Interview: Sean Burt (Saughton Sounders)

Another LEAFA Manager and his Club in the SAFN Chair today – I welcome Sean Burt, of Saughton Sounders. writes Tom Scott.

Thanks to Alan McKay (Tollcross Thistle AFC) for his help.

What was the attraction in starting the Club?

“Starting the Club and being able run it in the fairest way possible for Amateur Players to know they’ll be treated fairly.”

Any highlights you can share?

“Promotion in our first season alongside being able to add a second Sunday side due to off the field success, with that side now being Managed by Raymond Singleton.”

Best Wind-Up or Prank you have seen in Football?

“Short and Sweet, Toley in a boot.”

Who are the teams and players to look out for?

“Westside always the favourites and have so many good players with the likes of Jak Townsley and Jaxon Wishart. However, coming up with Portobello I feel they’ve got a good side especially at the back with Alex Bruce.”

Are you in favour of a return to LEAFA / Scottish Amateur Football?

“Of course, anything that will get our teams playing again ASAP needs to be explored. The Amateur game can’t be left behind how it was previously for the sake of the Players and Clubs alike.”
