Not one, but two Interviews from the Capital City today, writes Tom Scott.
Thanks to Alex and Steven, together with Tollcross Thistle AFC Manager Alan McKay for his help.
Name: “Alex Stewart
Position at Edinburgh Caledonia: “Assistant Manager/Player.”
What was the attraction in joining club?
“At the time a top Manager, Andy Moffat, was running the Club, he wanted to win things and so did I. He has been the root of the success and looking back it was a no brainier to join. The team wasn’t great at that time there were some great players, but no strength and depth.”
“Caley would finish mid table and get the odd decent win but since we have added some incredible players and now have a new Manager Val in place , who is a top guy and Coach. We are now on X 4 League titles.”
What has the highlight been?
“Doesn’t matter what level anyone plays at winning the League x 4 years in a row is an incredible achievement.”
“We also haven’t lost a league game in that time.”
What is the best prank or wind- up you have seen at Football?
“Not football , but football player related. Parker our GK had been winding me up for days, so I made a Gumtree advert up that he was selling Ginger Kittens. His phone would not to stop! At the time I done it, he was trying to put his son down to bed, so he took a massive huff and left every Group Chat that we were in and never spoke to me for a while!”
Teams and Players to watch out for when the LEAFA starts back?
“Will be interesting to see who comes out on top of the Saturday Premier Division, Sandys and Tollcross are two cracking sides. Would be good to see the likes of Meadowbank pushing up and splitting them up. Will be close between East and Westside again on Sunday Afternoons. Two really good sides and I can’t call who will win that battle!”
“Also a few cracking sides now in the Mornings, so it’s going to be hard for us , but we are confident we can make it happen.”
Do you want the LEAFA back in some capacity when the green light is given?
“The minute the green light is up we want to be playing. We will make it safe and follow process to make sure, that we avoid the spread of the infection. The boys are desperate to be back playing, as is everyone.”

“The No.8 from Bellshill United.”
