Thorn Club Hit The Small Screen Amid Huge Viewing Figures

Johnstone Club Thorn Athletics Story has smashed 3k views on YouTube after featuring in a newly launched show Chit Chat with Jed & Co, writes Tom Scott.

Viewers hear about their modest beginnings and turbulent early years through a trophy-laden two decades, which has seen it grow rapidly to almost 400 members, and a successful Caledonian Premier League Amateur side.

The show, which is hosted by Jed McCabe and produced by Sean Gill of LabRat Productions, lasts for just short of 20 minutes and is a rollercoaster ride through the high and lows of grassroots football.

Feedback has come from across the globe and Club Chairperson Mark McGee admitted it has been great publicity for the Club.

He said “The response has been fantastic and although we are a fairly new Club in contrast to some of the more well-established trans, it was great to see that people were interested in where we originated from.”

“The show was very professionally done and credit to Jed and his team for what is a polished production.”

The show includes footage shot at the Club’s recently launched Thorn Athletic Sports Academy facility, which they hope will go from strength to strength.

Mark added “It was very enjoyable telling the story, and I think it’s a great insight into the Club’s journey.”
