Today (Friday) is the deadline for entries into a Last Man Standing Competition organised to help raise money for the installation of floodlights to help three Amateur Football Clubs – and involve their local community, writes Tom Scott.
LEAFA Sunday Morning team Pentland Athletic FC, Penicuik Amateurs and Royal Penicuik are behind the project, which has spun into a Rollover and could reach £3000.
The floodlight plan is very ambitious, and would give clubs plus the community a place to play and train. Officials are keen to stress participation in the Rollover is not restricted to those people living locally.
For an entry fee of just £10, half the jackpot will go to the winner.
