Villa Boss Shares A Host Of Happy Memories

Motherwell Villa AFC are rapidly approaching five years in existence and Manager Joe Stafford has opened up his Memories Scrapbook and shared some of the them with Scottish Amateur Football News, writes Tom Scott.

First- ever game:  April 2016 – Only three people still remain at the club.  Jim to the right, Joe ,and Petsie  at the bottom left. 
This was three years ago in the Scottish Cup against Kilsyth Rovers. Top: Joe Stafford,  Danny Murphy, Graham Blaney, Darren Solman, Antz Stafford, James Mclaren, Daniel Sweeney, Jordan Stewart, and Allan Burton. Bottom: Stevie, Ryan Kells, Allan McSorley, Daniel Murray, Simon Heron, Eamonn McGill, David Dolan, Stef Findlay, and Dale Knox.
This game was one of Joe’s biggest highlights running Motherwell Villa AFC. They organised a game for one of their former players whose little girl had been diagnosed with Childrens Alzheimer’s
Said Joe: “I got all the lads together in horrible weather conditions and managed to play a team of ex-pros.”
“We played Dukla Pumpherston , and got our lads to bid to play.  Every player bid a minimum of £50 to go towards the amazing cause.”
“We also had UFC Fighter Paul Craig and Bellator fighter Chris Bungard play to help raise money. The other good memory of this photo is Cameron McMillan , who played for us,  but is sadly no longer with us. He played that night to help raise money for his niece..  We raised over £3000 in one night!” 
Every year Villa play a Summer Cup between their two teams.. They do try get teams involved , and this was the B team’s first Summer Cup against Standfast AFC – running out 3-1 winners.
