Headline Makers Revisited – Season 2007-2008

Postal United AFC announced Paul Freeman as their Player of the Year, and Gary Hughes was voted Players’ Player of the Year, writes Tom Scott.

United finished 7th in the Scottish Amateur League Premier Division after winning Division One promotion during the 2006-2007 campaign.

Meanwhile, Templeton Albert striker Craig Heggie dominated the club’s Player of the Year awards night.

The function, held at the St Rollox Bowling Club, saw Heggie share Albert’s Player of the Year vote with Alastair Rushford.

However, Templeton’s front man was named Top Goalscorer, Player’s Player of the Year, and Supporters Player of the Year.

Templeton Albert won the League Cup and a second consecutive Greater Glasgow Premier AFL Championship before leaving for the Scottish Amateur League in 2008-2009.
