Headline Makers Revisited (Season 2006-2007)

Three players from the Caledonian League were called by the Scottish Amateur Football Association in 2006-2007, writes Tom Scott.

The trio were Paul Crumley (Dalziel HSFP), Scott McDonald (Drumchapel Amateurs) and Martin Gaughan (Giffnock North).

Dalziel HSFP were Premier champions, and Bannockburn runners-up.

Milton Amateurs took Division One ahead of East Kilbride YMCA.

Newton Mearns Rovers won Division Two, with Bearsden Amateurs in second place.

Doune Castle won the East of Scotland Cup.

Glasgow Harp beat Strathclyde University in the Douglas Smith League Cup Final.

Balmore won the Queen’s Park Challenge Cup, with Doune Castle runners-up

Viewfield Rovers were victorious in the Renfrewshire Cup.
