Mr Richie Leacock R.I.P.

Strathclyde Saturday Morning AFL President/ Treasurer Andy Bryant has led the tributes to former long-term member Mr Richie Leacock, who has sadly passed away.

Said Andy “The SSMAFL are sad to announce the passing of former player, manager and secretary, Richie Leacock , of former member club Forest AFC.”

“Richie was a real gentleman, on and off the park, and a long- time member of the SSMAFL.”

“He, as many do, singularly ran his club, was always a supporter of the league and amateur football, and like us all, was very passionate about our game.”

“The league wish to pass on their condolences to the Leacock family at this very sad time.”

In normal times, the league would ask clubs to observe a minute’s silence, but I ask all clubs on their first home fixture, to observe a minute’s silence in honour of all persons who have passed away during these awful times.”
