Finnart AFC Manager Brian Blair has expressed his delight at the response to the Menself+ Challenge following a successful Week One. We broke the story players and coaches were embarking on 5km runs every day in December – aiming to complete at least 750km, which Brian set – up through a Strava running group to get everyone to register their time and distance covered each day.
In Week One, a total of 463- 81 kms has been recorded. The charity they are promoting is MENSELF+
MENSELF + exists to Help Men Become Better Men , and they achieve this through the delivery of their MOT 4 MEN programme, Men’s Groups, Walking Groups, Keep Fit and Walking Football activities. Self Development Workshops. Activities are designed o tackle and challenge the male psyche to encourage men to nurture and live life fully.
Said Brian “We have set – up a Just Giving Page. Any donation however little would be greatly appreciated.”
“We are also taking on this challenge to help raise funds for The Finnart Football Pitch where, with help from the Council and Glasgow Life, we are looking to gain a 25-year lease to help with the Development of our Club.”
“This is the challenge I’ve set the boys with no football to play, and everyone feeling it hard without football I thought help out a Charity, and give the boys a challenge to push themselves.”
