Strathclyde Saturday Morning AFL President Andy Bryant has revealed there will be a further reduction in league fees as a result of continued Government restrictions during Covid-19.
With many leagues still not functional and unlikely to start before the end of December, an Executive Committee Meeting made their latest decision on fees – taking the overall reduction during a normal season to around 50%. Speaking exclusively to SAFN, Andy, who also doubles up as League Treasurer, revealed “The Committee felt it was only fair that any assistance be given to clubs in these awful times of us not being able to play”
“As a further gesture, the Committee agreed to suspend any honoraria payments to Committee Members. The Members wanted to show solidarity with our clubs, players, and club officials to help us all through this period.”
“In my opinion, this is a great gesture, especially given that several officers have done a lot of work, but felt they had to show their willingness to keep costs down and help clubs as much as possible”
