Saints Stage Second Half Dunoon Fightback

Three second half goals gave Oban Saints AFC victory against friendly hosts Dunoon Amateurs. Having passed a pitch inspection Dunoon Stadium was still on the heavy side,  but both clubs will be delighted to get another 90 minutes under their belts with 11 Council areas (and a huge amount of clubs) still restricted in Tuer-4.  And the quality of football was good!

Oban Manager Willie Gemmell shuffled the pack again, and young Lewis Campbell was named among the substitutes.

Wind-assisted. Dunoon took the lead on 27 minutes when Evan Meyar-McDonagh shot low into the net.

Saints switched to a 3-5-2 formation after half-time, and Craig McEwan equalised from the penalty spot after being fouled. Six minutes later, Kerr Newbigging made it 2-1 after ‘keeper Hunter couldn’t hold McEwan’s rasper.

Substitute Lewis Campbell was twice denied by Euan Hunter, but had better luck  ( not that he needed any), with a great finish on 85 minutes.
