Two-Club Merger Strengthens SSMAFL Championship Bid

Haghill-St Rochs AFC are fully focused on a double bid to win silverware in Saturday Morning football next season. Last month, I exclusively revealed St Roch, formerly known as Glenmill and Haghill had been competitive rivals in Sunday football, but were now forging a new dynamic path towards success with A and B squads.

The innovative merger made sense since many of the players turned out for both teams, and the one-club (A-B format) keeps everyone playing.

Hopefully and providing there are no further Government rulings, Haghill- St Rochs A will make their debut in the sponsored Sammy’s Italian Kitchen Premier Division against hosts Bengal Lancers on Saturday, October 31. Likely kick-off time 10am.

On the same morning, the B squad travel to play North Glasgow Victory in the Legends Bar Diner Development Section.

The following week, November 7, two home games will generate plenty of action.
