SSMAFL Premier Big Guns Ready For Title Challenge

Some of the best known Saturday Morning Clubs are poised to lay claim to the SSMAFL Premier Division title sponsored by Sammy’s Italian Kitchen when the latest Government restrictions are out of the way.

The championship race will have more twists and turns than Strictly Come Dancing, and that will come as no real surprise to followers of the Amateur grade.

There is real concern Covid-19 may yet stop the football season at every level in Scotland, but allow me to look on the more positive side of the argument and put forward the likes of Shawbridge, Tynecastle AFC, UB United, and Westercommon Star, who have been over the. course before in terms of pushing players to the maximum.

Who will challenge the Quartet? I wouldn’t rule out Bengal Lancers, Nicos United, Maryhill Thistle or Haghill-St Roch A, but no doubt any of the other seven I have not mentioned will use my opinion in a motivational team-talk!

Thanks to SSMAFL President Andy Bryant for the Graphics and list of 15 clubs which reads as follows:

AS AIRDRIE, BENGAL LANCERS, BLACKTHORN ROVERS, EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE, GLASGOW SOUTH, HAGHILL ST ROCHS A, KIRKINTILLOCH THISTLE, MARYHILL THISTLE, NICOS UNITED, SHAWBRIDGE, SOUTHSIDE, TYNECASTLE, UB UNITED, UDDINGSTON and WESTERCOMMON STAR
