Alan Ness is demanding a big improvement from the Condorrat Amateurs squad when they open their Stirling and District AFL Premier campaign against Dunipace on the Ravenswoid Astro this Saturday.
The fixture forms part of a tough opening three-game package for last season’s First Division champions away to Barrhill and Alva (home) and if they have genuine ambitions about being in the mix with those top flight clubs, Alan Ness reckons they have to bounce back positively from Saturday’s final friendly and a 5-2 defeat at hosts Campsie.
He told me “We were very disappointing.”
“Both of our goals came from new signing, Michael Quinn, who looks like he is going to be a great addition. Michael was with Blackwood Villa, and has scored five goals in three games for Condorrat. Two yesterday and a hat-trick on his debut.”
“Campsie have improved massively since last season, plus a cracking new set-up they have moved into.”
