Fullarton Park, Tollcross will stage the first-ever Vale of Clyde Summer Cup Final on Saturday afternoon. Kick-off 2pm. Hoping to have their hands on silverware -. and enjoy bragging rights before the official football campaign kicks-off will be the Vale of Clyde West of Scotland Football League team and Vale of Clyde Sunday Central.
Despite the absence of supporters due to Covid-19 restrictions, all Club officials are hoping this month’s four-game format will be the first of many in the East End of Glasgow.
The West League squad ran out comfortable winners against Cambuslang Under-21s last Saturday afternoon and with a few players returning this week Manager Mark Mackay could send out a different starting lline-up, and team shape.
Vale of Clyde Sunday who held an early two-goal lead in their game will have to tighten things up at the back this time, but always pose a threat going forward. With a few boys returning for Gary Dunnery’s side, they will look to take the game to their more-fancied opponents.
With Dean Patterson at the back, Graeme Lees in the middle of the park and the returning Sam Donald up top, Vale Sunday will give this a right good go. Sam Donald ( ex- Vale of Clyde Juniors) is back at Fullarton Park. Wearing the famous Tin Pail colours, he notched over 10 goals in his one season in Tollcross, and certainly knows the road to the opposition goalkeeper.
