Colville Park E AFC have announced they are promoting from within to fill their vacant coaching position, and Andy Cockrell is moving over from the playing side at Dalziel Park.
In an exclusive for @AmmyFitbaNews. Manager Kenny Henderson told me:. “Andy has decided to step away from playing this season to become part of my management team.”
“We have been looking for a reliable person to join us working (coaching) with the players. Andy has experience playing with Forth Wanderers and Cambria AFC and I am delighted to have him on board in the backroom staff. We can also have Andy cover and play if we run into any injuries and player suspensions moving forward.”
“There should be some news for you shortly on changes within the playing staff. This is something we have been looking at over the three pre-season games so far.”
Henderson, in his first in charge at Colville, has always maintained he wants competition for places if the club hope to recapture the glory days of winning championships and cup finals. One key feature is the goalkeeping slot, where Chris Wright is currently playing without a serious back-up rival for the gloves.
Kenny added “Chris has actually asked when we are signing another goalkeeper. He wants to be put under pressure to play,. and the competition that brings with recruiting someone who has experience of playing at a good level. I also favour having two goalkeepers in order we can organise specialist sessions for them on a training night once the new season commences.”
Any available goalkeepers should contact Kenny Henderson on 07702 314289.
The former Scottish Amateur Cup holders,. whose main sponsor is The Electric Bar and Grill, would also like to attract a backer to sponsor the players’ holdalls. Call Kenny Henderson at the same number.
