While Covid 19 restrictions have curtailed the aspirations of every football club in the country, Eastwood Parkmount AFC have a clear vision in building even stronger links within their community.
Formally known as Orchard Parkmount AFC, who were founded in 1963. they recently merged with Eastwood Juveniles. They have been running two teams for over 50 years which is not an easy thing to do. As members of the Greater Glasgow Premier AFL the team’s occupy places in Divisions 1 and 2 respectively.
Jonny Bradley is a player at the club and has recently taken over their social media coverage.
He revealed “We are aiming to build up our youth teams and become a prominent club in the community again.”
“Key club members are Chairman Ian McLure, First team coaching/ management – Graham Kyle (Ex Greenock Morton professional goalkeeper), Robert Kerr and David Fitzpatrick.
Second team management – John Reilly, Ian McLure. “Club Captain – Michael Lynch, a long standing player for the club, had spells at Pro Youth teams including Rangers and Motherwell.”
“Like every club across the country we can’t wait to get a start date and make a real push for trophies this season.”
